Create with the rss factory your widgets that read the info from a rss feed, for your blog, forum or web site.

You have to be registered in the rss factory to create your widgets, get into factory.beon4u.com and click the button labeled "register", complete the formulary and you'll be ready to access the system.

If sometime in the future you lose or forget our password, don't worry! at the home page you have a link to recover your password and have it sent to your email address.

To access the rss factory, fill in your email address, password and click the button labeled "entrar"; then you will follow one of two posible options, "create new widget" or "edit previously created widgets" as long as you did create any widget in the past.

After that step you will be in the first tab of the rss factory, "validate rss"; it's the first thing to do! because without an active feed, you won't be able to create a widet; to validate it, you need to go to your blog or web site and copy the URL of the rss feed (it can be RSS 1.0, RSS 2.0 or Atom 0.3) into the clipboard so you can paste or write it in the form field and click the button labeled "feed validator"; the system will indicate you if the rss feed you provided is good or if there is any problem with it.

If you encounter any problem, click the button labeled "back" and check the URL you just entered; then you have to repeat the operation until your rss feeds validates; if you have any questions, you can leave it at our beon user community forum.

After validating your rss feed, click the button labeled "make widget" to go to the next tab labeled "widget design"; the first thing you will see is an image in real time of the look of your rss reader widget and a list of box with tools to edit the different parts of it.

you can change

• a) the header color
• b) text header color
• c) text header content (you have two lines, enough space for the title of your widget)
• d) body background color
• e) body text color (post titles)
• f) logo image of your blog or web site

In each case the system will open a popup window where you can change the details using the form fields and color palette.

For the logo image, we suggest you to use an image of 43 by 43 pixels and a size of up to 512KB.

confirm your widget

When your rss reader widget design is ready, just click the button labeled "confirm widget" so you can get into the last tab labeled "confirm".

Here you will see a static image of an example of how your widget will look in the new beon menu and four boxes for some final touches:

• a) short name of your widget (this will be the name of the executable file and the one that will appear in the beon menu; we suggest you to not use blank spaces or strange characters).
• b) description (here you can write a short description that will appear in the credits window of your widget; you can use up to 120 characters).
• c) blog category (you have to indicate what kind of content is your widget going to show and if you desire your widget to be listed at our widget gallery, if you accept the latter, your widget will be visible to other users that will be able to follow in their desktops the information from your blog or web site).
• d) widget icon (you can select the color that icon of your widget is going to have, it will be used -for example- in the shortcut used for your Windows desktop).

Remember that if you decide to modify anything of the design of your widget you can click the button labeled "back" to go back to the "widget design" tab.

When you are finished with the design and final touches, just click the button labeled "build widget" and the system will show you a page with the following message: "Your widget has been built"; and aproximately after one minute you will receive an email address with a link to download your rss reader widget installer; you can publish this link in your blog or web site so your readers can follow your news.

Remember that you can modify your widgets any time you want, you just have to return to the rss factory and follow the steps until the end.
